I'm not against this specific case of interrupt domains, and also not 
against experiment on that if helps. However I disagrees your last 
sentence. 

Adding immature code into unstable base only makes things messed, 
worse, and more error-prone. Together with people's on-going effort to 
make xen/ia64 more stable, new patches should be more careful to 
address existing issues that people are concern.

(Recent clean-up patches on the list are highly appreciated, 
including yours :-)
