Why do you need to use sda? Why isn't xvda sufficient?

i do not really need sda, i can use hda or something else, but thats just a workaround. There are some managing software, which use sda in created cfg files and on the other site i dont like something i cant really understand. If everybody says you can use sda/hda/md etc. depending on cfg File i check if i can use it. If not something is misconfigured. Perhaps that doesnt matter, but i dont know it and i want a working xen installation in most of the points for productive use.
