Thanks for your answer James, so indeed it was me who was mistaken.

Since we are on the topic though, what it troubles me is that this device did 
not appear on the first Win2003 installation, it has only appeared after 
uninstalling GPLPV, that's why I though they where tied somehow.

I have no problem in disabling this device since all seems to be working fine, 
but I'd like to know why it has appeared from nowhere.

Does anyone have a clue?
