Round 5 of this series.

The first one in a new patch to fix a bug in standalone-reset.

This series was tested with OSSTest standalone mode:
 $ sg-run-job build-amd64
 $ OSSTEST_HOST_REUSE=1 sg-run-job build-amd64-pvops
 $ JOBNAME=test-amd64-amd64-xl-qemuu-ovmf-amd64 ts-debain-hvm-install 
host=cam-st12
