A few thoughts:

What hardware are you using? The output of 'dmesg' from a working
Linux kernel might be useful.

Does the CD work if you boot from it directly?

Do you have a VGA-compatible video card? Xen assumes you do and things
will not be pretty otherwise.

Do you see random garbage on the monitor, or over the serial line? I
assume the former, in which case you may get useful information out by
reading console output from the first serial port (COM1) --- it will
be 115200 baud, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity.

I hope this helps --- we really need more info and for you to try some
of the above tests to pin down what the problem might be.
