I usually make a template config and a template tar-file of domU. So
my "install" is actually a "restore", plus minor changes :)
This PV config uses pygrub bootloader and allows memory and cpu
dynamic allocation up to 8 vcpu and 8G memory. The vfb part is
optional (and I usually comment it out)

That should do it. Just make sure that you have consistent backup of
the guest. e.g. shutdown domU first, or have LVM snapshot or similar.
