Setting SELinux to 'permissive' wasn't sufficient?
If you like your system log files filled with thousands and thousands of lines daily of useless SELinux whinging, sure. But using SELinux in "permissive" mode should be for debugging and eventually turning SELinux on, not for stable running environments. Otherwise, it's very difficult to sort out which whinging lines actually mean something you should address.
