I found a reference to xennet as a possible issue why this may happen (eth0 not
showing up)

The solution is apparently to add :
"alias eth0 xennet" to /etc/modprobe.conf
Can someone on the list confirm if this is the case ? (I do not have access to
my system right now but will have to call and instruct someone to do it, so am
checking up before hand. apologies)
