Yes if it is a bridged setup then it has to be like that.

Here I will not be able to help some more knowledgeable people should reply.
Since if it is a bug then I can not say.I doubt it is a bug.But there
is some thing known as strace.Try to use it to find what exactly is
happening when you are destroying that will help a bit more to dig the
problem.
