That's a bit of a misstatement, Fajar (sorry, James :-) - Sun is not endorsing the drivers - a member of the Solaris Kernel Development group endorsed it in a post on one of the OpenSolaris forums.  Hard to say whether or not that person is actually a Sun employee, and even if he is, I'm guessing you could find some fine print somewhere that would make disclaimers about the 'views expressed in this forum do not represent Sun Microsystems, etc.'
 
Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking the GPL PV drivers - I use them quite extensively myself - just saying that the referenced post does not amount to an endorsement by Sun.

If it helps to add your motivation, Sun is actually endorsing your
driver over their own :D
