Hello,

    for use on MGE UPS on my Xen Server, I wants to use the device
/dev/ttyS0 for communicate with the UPS. So I do that :

Xen 3.1.4
Debian Etch
Kernel 2.6.18.8

Kernel config :
XEN --->
   [ ] Disable serial port drivers

Device Drivers --->
   Character Devices --->
      Serial Drivers --->
         │<*> 8250/16550 and compatible serial
support                         │ │
         │ │[*] Console on 8250/16550 and compatible serial
port               │ │
         │ │(4)   Maximum number of 8250/16550 serial
ports                      │ │
         │ │(4) Number of 8250/16550 serial ports to register at runtime

grub config :

title           Xen 3.1.4 / Debian GNU/Linux, kernel 2.6.18.8-xen0
root            (hd0,0)
kernel          /boot/xen-3.1.4.gz
module          /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.18.8-xen0 root=/dev/sda1 ro
console=tty0 fastboot xencons=ttyS1
module          /boot/initramfs-xen0-3.1.4.img
savedefault

But, when I want to boot on this new compiled kernel, I have this error
message :

Begin Waiting for root file system .......

Where is my mistakes ?

Thanks a lot
