I don't know if 3.0.3 kernels will work with your xen 3.0.2 installation. Also note that 3.0.4 is out and solves a lot a bugs.

Why not upgrade before trying anything else? May be you are encountering a problem that's been solved in newer versions.

I am using a debian Etch here, but I am compiling xen myself, no package, it's just a matter of about 10 command lines.

Which distro do you use?
I'm working with gentoo and xen 3.0.2 without success.
Non HVM vms works fine with network but isn't the same for HVM.
Let me see your custom kernel may be that I find the solution ;-)
