2007/1/10, Henning Sprang <henning_sprang@xxxxxx>:

I have no problem running xen and hvm with an e1000.
But the type of card you use should not be a problem for a hvm domU,
as long as you don't try to give a domain direct access, which is not
possible with hvm anyway, as far as i know.

with direct access in non-HVM env the nic works.
I need it works in hvm too :-/

What errors do you see, what do your logfiles say? How does your vif
config look like for the failing domain?

In dom0 nic works fine. In domU the nic doesn't work.
The problem seems to be the layer 2 of the domU; when I run a ping,
it responds "Destination is unreacheble..." and the arp table is
empty or with *incomplete* entry.
The logs doesn't contain any anomaly.

The configuration of vif look like

vif = [ 'type=ioemu, bridge=xenbr0' ]

and I have tried

vif = [ 'type=ioemu, mac=00:16:3e:00:00:12, bridge=xenbr0' ]
