I think colors can be const. In general, I would prefer if variable/parameters that should not be modified are const. I didn't find any documentation explaining why we need at least two colors. I guess you want to make sure that there is a color for Xen and domain. But I wonder what could wrong with just one color (other than been pointless)? I would consider to move llc_coloring_enabled in llc_coloring_init(). But if you prefer to keep the check here, then I would at least request to merge the two ifs. I.e. if ( llc_coloring_enabled && !llc_coloring_init() ) That said... ... shouldn't the coloring happen in setup_mm()?
