That would reduce, rather than increase, the technical debt. I actually wanted to move all the xen specific stuff in pc_piix.c to xen-hvm.c. That would reduce the technical debt that has accumulated over the years. I just couldn't see how to do it easily. It looked I would need to do violence to pc_init1. But, I suppose, pc_init1 is the kind of function that has accumulated lots of technical debt and needs some violence done to it! I will give it a try, but it might take me a while. I think if it was easy, someone would have done it by now.
