I think it would be best if the page is initialized in Xen. This would allow to use the fields in the interface to propage the connection state (see my comment in patch #1).

On patch #1, you wrote the domain will have to wait on the event channel. So shouldn't the event channel be initialized before the domain is created? Otherwise, how would the domain knows when it is set?

I think "restore" is misleading because the domain was never in Xenstore. So how about "create"?
