So, an unmodified/stock kernel which would rely upon a typical (i.e. its
own grub) bootloader. The magic comes from the PVH drivers?

I saw the comment from I Roger. The overt statement of pvh intention 
would be a good thing.
I am, at the moment, building a 4.11 kernel in a guest, hoping to boot 
it in PVH mode.
