About C?

I would recommend The C Programming Language by
Brian W. Kernighan, Dennis M. Ritchie
What I think is missing or just the pointers to it is an explanation of the interaction between parts of the ecosystem, like pci-device<>xen-netback<>xen-netfront, where is data copied, where it is mapped, what is the role of grant tables, what are the different parts of the source-code (e.g. the stubdom folder) are supposed to be good for.
