man/xl.pod.1 around line 854: Expected text after =item, not a bullet
POD document had syntax errors at /usr/bin/pod2text line 84.
Makefile:142: recipe for target 'txt/man/xl.1.txt' failed

Yet I don't see any commit under test having touched the input file.
Was there an update to build host software, and we're now lacking
some backport in that tree?
