I think Roger was referring to an older report here, your current issue
("Second regression...") was what Roger then referred to as "Then
Konrad...", I think.

What's not clear to me so far WRT the second issue is whether the udev
rules were present and in use in the working case (i.e. with the revert in
place). See <1438244251.11600.236.camel@xxxxxxxxxx>, in particular the
second half and even more specifically the final two paragraphs.
