Sending a patch to utilize the 'grub-file' to figure this out. It is
right now only for Linux as platforms as I don't have yet the other
platforms installed to test the patch properly.

Vladimir, thank you for having the 'grub-file' already in the tree!
(it shows up in the master branch).
