Re: [Xen-devel] [PATCH for Xen 4.5 v3 0/2] Sanity check input and serialize vcpu data in sched_rt.c

Sorry, the cover letter missed one line. :-(

2014-11-10 16:11 GMT-05:00 Meng Xu <mengxu@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>:

These two patches are to solve the issues found by Jan Beulich atÂhttp://lists.xen.org/archives/html/xen-devel/2014-09/msg03554.html.

The solution is summarized by Dario Faggioli at http://lists.xen.org/archives/html/xen-devel/2014-09/msg03603.html.

Here is the solution:
  Â- sanity checking input params in rt_dom_cntl()
  Â- serialize rt_dom_cntl() itself against the global lock
  Â- move the call to rt_update_deadline() from _alloc to _insert

Here is a history of the patch set:
  v1: first patch to implement the solution by replying the thread; request for comment.
  v2: properly lock the data as proposed in the solution;
  v3: add comments to the commit log to better explain the reason of the implementation.

The whole patch set is:
  Release-Acked-by: Konrad Rzeszutek Wilk <konrad.wilk@xxxxxxxxxx>
