[Xen-devel] Would you explain the asynchronous operations "AO" in xen-4.2.1?

I'm learning to use checkpoint (xl -save) in xen-4.2.1 ,however, It's difficult to understand the code of  function xc_domain_save() and asynchronous operations "AO". May I have the details of  asynchronous operations "AO" ? Meanwhile ,I can't figure it out what the difference between "xm -save" and "xm snapshot-create" is. Need your help urgently!
