The code has already been written: https://github.com/xen-org/xen-api/pull/631 Internally, we'll most likely start using a slightly different (due to an extra type that needed encapsulation: Xenctrl.runstateinfo) patch to Xen soon, together with the changes to xen-api. I see no reason not to include it immediately, since it is only a namespace and naming (albeit a backward incompatible) change, not also a semantic change, and therefore cannot introduce regressions when the client code is only adapted to use the new namespaces and names.
