You can also use the HG mirror, which is bound to work if you've
gotten the main xen tree:

http://xenbits.xen.org/ext/qemu-xen-unstable.hg

This problem crops up fairly frequently, so in my opinion it would
make sense to use the HG mirror by default.

I submitted a patch to support both HG and git back in September:

In the meantime, Mercurial subrepository support has gotten more
mature and makes all the fragile Makefile code to keep the trees in
sync unnecessary.
