Well for simple streaming IO tests you can use dd, it supports multiple
block sizes, O_DIRECT etc.

If you need multithreaded/multiprocess tests, or filesystem IO tests, then
you need something more sophisticated.. bonnie++, ltp disktest, fio, iozone
etc. Google is your friend.
