Indeed.  Is there much demand ?  We could provide tarballs quite
easily if people want.

Last time I produced binary packages it was a good deal of effort
wrestling the various package building systems and I'm not really sure
the results were that good anyway.  So we're not planning on doing
those I'm afraid.
