I think you probably do not have oprofile module configured in your kernel.
Configuring and installing oprofile 0.9.2 just gives you the user level tools. To get the kernel module you need to compile and install the kernel with the right CONFIG options:
CONFIG_PROFILING=y
CONFIG_OPROFILE=m

We never actually had a version working for 3.0.2.

Your best option is to upgrade to 3.0.3 (or 3.0.4 if you wait until it is released).

Can anyone share the magic for getting oprofile to work with 3.0.2? I’ve got the 0.9.2 version of oprofile, applied the xen patch and tried a number of different options to ./configure but nothing I do causes it to build the module and the admin commands all complain that the module is not found after I ‘make install’ the result in Dom0…

Thanks,

Simon
