[Xen-devel] help on set_phys_to_machine()!

Maybe this question is a little dumb, please be gentle.

What's the use of set_phys_to_machine()? I noticed that many drivers use this function after remapping pages from foreign domain. But if I disable this function,
the system still runs well. Then what's the use of this function?
