Re: [Xen-devel] [PATCH] x86: fix microcode updater

This patch syncs up the microcode driver with linux 2.6.17 and adds on top of this enhancements (yet to be submitted to lkml) to prevent the driver from disabling interrupts for long periods of time. This is done by IPI-ing all remote CPUs sequentially rather than at once so they don't all race for the same spin lock(s). Additionally, redundant updates on
multiple siblings of the same core are now suppressed.

The patch claims to upgrade to driver version 1.14b which isn't in 2.6.17 as far as I can tell. In fact I could only find even 1.14a by downloading 2.6.17-git12.

What I've done is upgrade the microcode driver to 1.14a in xen-unstable. Please send separate patches to upgrade to 1.14b (if you still want to do that; also let me know where you found it!) and to make any not-Linux-upstream changes.

 Thanks,
 Keir
