Weird -- We've had some success reports with VDs working under
1.1, but you and Stephen have hit the same problem.

This area of code has been entirely rewritten for 1.2, so its
hard to muster much enthusiasm for fixing it in 1.1, but I can
take a look.  Please can you the output of "sfdisk -d" on the VD's.
