That's true.
I've tested and got about the same connection rate between two separate, physical machines. That's what led me into testing using only loopback. My presumption was that if the loopback cannot produce the numbers I want, neither would the physical interface.
But I guess it's easy to be fooled by what Xen are doing at a low level when virtualized. So don't get me wrong, I'm all ears. -- Carl Byström
