Hi,

Me too use supermicro twin servers to run Xen on Ubuntu/Debian and wanted to take advantages to use Infiniband to use external storages. Maybe even possible to boot it from there diskless? :)
Any development and success story will be match appreciated.
Thanks!

Casper

Dear All!

I'm also interesting in compatibility of Xen to work with Infiniband.
I'm also have Infiniband on my supermicro nodes (Mellanox ConnectX-2 QDR
Infiniband 40Gbps Controller w/ QSFP connector) and want to use IPoIB
and with external storage.

I will be grateful for information from anyone who actually uses
Infiniband with Xen.

Is it possible and are there things that should be taken in
concideration, if one uses ddk to build drivers for IB? I have
Mellanox QDR, 40Gb/s IB integrated in my supermicro motherboards.

Is the earlier advice, "use XenServer 5.6 FP1 ddr" still valid?

I have used InfiniBand with CentOS and Xen with good results.
At this point, InfiniBand is still not supported by default by
XCP (even though XCP is based on CentOS). Hopefully someday
InfiniBand will be supported out of the box with XCP.

        Hi, all,

Is the Xen currently compatible with the InfiniBand? I found
some information about the Smart I/O module, but it was posted
in 2006. Is the module still maintained? Or, are there any
        up-to-date alternatives for that?

        Many thanks,

        Chiu
