I downloaded and ran the live CD from
http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/LiveCD
which worked fine on a Lenovo, Intel
Core 2CPU 6300@xxxx GHz with 1GB
of ram and 80 GB disk space. The next step was to recreate a working version
on this machine.
The machine originally had CentOS 32bit
installed, Xen from the distribution did not work. I noticed that
Xen on the LiveCD was based upon Debian (lenny), so I replaced the CentOS
with lenny and applied the Xen from the distribution.
xen-linux-system-2.6.26.2-xen - resulted
in error when boot and xen kernel selected.
ERROR:
xf86MapVidMem: Could not mmap framebuffer
(0xd0000000,0x80000) (Invalid argument)
Build Operating System: Linux Debian (xorg-server
2:1.4.2-10.lenny2)
Current Operating System:
Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.26-2-xen-amd64 #1
This was a disappointment as I was attempting
to demonstrate ease of use/application and stand up a small development
environment based upon OpenSource products.
TIA - Scott M.
