My assumptions probably. My Linux is stable, I'd like to keep my
machine that way, hence wanted Linux at the 'top of the heap, if
you see what I mean.

I have, in fact I had the player running, but it seems that the curl
used by vmware
is OOD.

run the install
update for current kernel,
   vmware-modconfig --console --install-all


remove certs
mv /usr/lib/vmware/resources/mozilla-root-certs.crt
/usr/lib/vmware/resources/mozilla-root-certs.crt.old

If needed, tools, then see

Unless I need the tools, I seem to have a start. Just need to know what they
