hg (mercurial) may be installed on RHEL 5 via standard tar.gz file in 10 min.
Version should not be the most recent ( about 2-3 years old).
Due to up to  date mercurial match Ubuntu's set of libraries.

You can grab the xen src.rpm from ftp.redhat.com and re-build it on your RHEL5 desktop.
This is the easiest way.

Because RHEL5 doesn't include mercurial package. I think it might be in the EPEL repo.
