When I boot into my freshly installed Xen kernel on a Debian Lenny system it continually reboots itself. This is a 64-bit system if that makes any difference. Append "noreboot" to your grub entry and Xen will halt instead of rebooting. You'll then be able to view any error messages. See http://wiki.debian.org/Xen#CommonErrors for an example.
