Short answer: most likely no.
There were problems with Xen and qcow/qcow2, and so far I haven't seen
anyone reports their success on this list.

It's easier to use LVM. Be careful when using LVM snapshot though,
make ABSOLUTELY sure you don't run out of space on the snapshot.
