Re: [Xen-users] unable to start virtual1

Hi Devi,

I'm sorry to say that I've never used convirt before,
so I can't say something about it.

#2. It asked for Installation Method. I selected URL.

#3. Then it gave a message "No driver found"
#Unable to find any devices of the type needed for this installation type.
#Would you like to manually select your driver or use a driver disk?

Is this an output from convirt(Dom0) or from the virtual machine after starting it (DomU)?

If it's an DomU output, it seems like the driver for the virtual network card isn't found. So you have to make an initrd for it, or attach the Dom0 initrd in the vm config file.

Have you got a little bit console experience?
I you have not, maybe someone with convirt experience could help you much better.

Cheers,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Version of Xen is 3.1.2
OS is Fedora
I am unaware of Network Adapters.
I used convirt to create a virtual machine called virtual1 and was successful.
And I hit the start button,
as I told earlier, I followed the steps, and I got stuck,
It gave a message "No driver found"

If the information is insufficient, then let me know again, I will try
to provide you.

Regards,
Devi

Hi,

are you talking about Citrix Xen?

You should provide much more information, like

- What Hardware are you using? Especially Network Adapters.
- What Version of Xen and OS?
- Give detailed information about errors, not "This Option is not working".

Cheers,
Alex

There was 3 options
1. Select driver : I chose this option, but I could not select any driver
successfully.
2. Use a driver disk : This options is not working.

So I am unable to go forward and run virtual1.

Please help me out with
