Hi,

I have a SuSE SLES 10 SP1 based Xen server (xen-3.0.4). The hardware is IBM xSeries 346 (2x 3,4GHz Xeon) with (currently) 4GB RAM. It has two integrated network interfaces (Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5721 Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express) using the 'tg3' driver. I'm only using one...

On this server there are two DomU's, both running OpenSuSE 10.3 (they're based off identical installation, they have identical packages). One has 2GB of RAM assigned, while the other has 1GB.

I noticed that transferring files to the second DomU is very slow - ranging up to 500 kB/s on a gigabit network. I tested the same transfer from the same server to Dom0 and it was also slow - so I blamed the network (switches, etc.).

However, just to make a point, I also tried the transfer to the other DomU - the speed was decent - over 11 MB/s in both ways (from and to DomU). Transferring files between DomU's is also decent (25 MB/s).

Now I'm completely out of ideas - what could be wrong with my Dom0 and (only) one of DomU's? Any ideas?

Thanks, Danilo
