I believe it's because Intel-VT doesn't support real mode. You might
have better luck with OpenSolaris PV DomU instead. See
http://wiki.tardis.ed.ac.uk/index.php/OpenSolaris_Xen_domU
I believe you need 32 bit Xen, non-PAE for that.
