No, you shouldn't need to.  In your DomU, you provide the netfront and blockfront drivers.  The picture is something like this:

Special Ethernet Driver (Dom0, real eth0) <--> Net Back (Dom0, vifX.0) <--> Xen Hypervisor <--> NetFront (DomU, paravirtualized as eth0)

Special Block Driver (Dom0, real /dev/device) <--> Block Back (Dom0) <--> Hypervisor <--> Block Front (DomU, paravirtualized as /dev/hda1)

If I had to compile special ethernet and SATA drivers in the dom0, does the domU need the same drivers?

Thanks,
Greg
