I compiled this for my own needs, im using a CentOS 4.4 x64 dom0 and paravirtualised domU's

This should work in a SuSE dom0 too

AFAIK you must partition the disk image or LVM volume for your SuSE domU to work properly:
for example:
 
- create the disk with dd or lvcreate
- mount it loopback
- fdisk it
- create a filesystem
- use it for installation
 
Works great for me
