Your initrd file is bad, try without it (as suggested by others) but I doubt it will work. Help us out figure out how to fix this problem once for all and I will write a how to boot xen doc.

This is my first time working with Xen so I'm hoping it's just something easy I'm doing wrong. I've tried several different combinations, but I've started fresh with FC5 to help reduce the possibility of outside errors.

Here were my steps:

1)
Fresh Fedora Core 5 installation on /dev/hda1
Installed bridge-utils and other dependencies.

2)
installed:
xen-3.0.3.0-1.i386.rpm
xen-devel-3.0.3.0-1.i386.rpm
kernel-xen-2.6.16.29-3.0.3.0.i386.rpm

3)
Edited grub.conf to add:
title Xen
    root (hd0,0)
    kernel /boot/xen-3.0.3.0.gz noreboot
    module /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.16.29-xen_3.0.3.0 ro root=/dev/hda1
    module /boot/initrd-2.6.16.29-xen_3.0.3.0.img

4) Reboot into "Xen" and get the following in the last bit of output:

Creating /dev
input: AT Translated Set 2 keyboard as /class/input/input0
Creating initial device nodes
Setting up hotplug.
Creating block device nodes.
Loading ide-disk.ko module
ide_disk: no version for "struct_module" found: kernel tainted.
Loading jdb.ko module
Loading ext3.ko module
Creating root device.
Mounting root filesystem.
mount: could not find filesystem '/dev/root'
Setting up other filesystems.
Setting up new root fs
setuproot: moving /dev failed: No such file or directory
no fstab.sys, mounting internal defaults
setuproot: error mounting /proc: No such file or directory
setuproot: error mounting /sys: No such file or directory
Switching to new root and running init.
unmounting old /dev
unmounting old /proc
unmounting old /sys
switchroot: mount failed: No such file or directory
Kernel panic - no syncing: Attempted to kill init!

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Mike
