I am running windows fully virtualized under Fedora Core 5.  The default network adapter shows up as a AMD PCNET adapter, running at 10Mbps.  Is there a faster virtual network driver available for the HVM environment? 

 

 I doubt it will make any difference to actual transfer rates, but there are some other network cards you can use from the device model: ne2000 and (in the latest versions of Xen) rtl8139.

 

But the 10Mbps isn't going to affect your actual transfer rate, as all that actually happens is that the packet is sent from the device model (qemu-dm) to Dom0 for further transmission (either to another local domain or to the rest of the world). In the "rest of the world" case it's being transmitted on your REAL ethernet card, which may well be a gigabit card. And you can probably achieve a bit more than 10Mbps, but also bear in mind that the network card IS EMULATED by qemu-dm, so it's not going to be the same performance as some real hardware.
