[Xen-users] Xen on CentOS4

Hi,
I'm trying to get Xen running on a freshly installed CentOS 4.2 machine and when booting into dom0 for the first time, I'm getting a kernel panic. Obviously I can't copy the whole screen but the last line is something to this effect:

RIP<some address> {smp_really_stop_cpu+16} RSP <some address>
<0> Kernel panic - not syncing: Aiee, killing interrupt handler

This is the xen 3.0 x86_64 binary tarball I just downloaded.

I suspect that the xen kernel possibly does not support the NVIDIA SATA/RAID controller on my motherboard (ASUS K8N-DL). I even had trouble with it on CentOS 4.0 (CentOS could install but not boot afterwards) and it only just seems to be cleanly supported in this version. It is hard to catch what is happening on the screen before the panic fills it, but it does look like the panic happens just after hdd detection prefixed by "NVIDIA."

I did make an initrd and followed all the instructions in the Wiki for getting CentOS going.

Paul
