To get the acuracy you need you'll need to adjust the parameter in xen/include/asm-x86/config.h too

Just curious, is there any disadvantage to doing this (changing the timer to 1000hz)?

It'd be really nice to be able to have a working ztdummy module for my Asterisk vm.
