Soffi:

The satellite connection won't be in place for a few weeks (I am arranging for installation and lease purchase to cover installation and special equipment).  Expect no problems.  There are several machines that will do for the first server. Down the line as demand builds I will probably add servers in a way they work together and extend the satellite bandwidth.  I am hoping to get volunteers as remote web masters (are you interested???) that know exactly what they are doing and won't screw up the installation.  When at least one of these (remote web masters) come on board I will consult with them regarding a custom server (instead some of the existing ones) initially equipped with 8 x 200 Gig hard drives plus availability of more storage within the LAN.  The web master(s) and I will decided on the Linux distribution for an OS, the server, the CPU board and other hardware as well as the details of operation.

The server will serve both the LAN and the Internet.  Please see remarks on LAN usage and SERVER functionality in previous email. Gateways are already in place but I do not know at the present time the nature and functionality of the equipment associated with satellite communications. The server will be single CPU and the web master and I will have to agree on the CPU board, LAN card(s) and many many other details.  Also, if the development team accepts the "proposal" in some form they have final say over who and how many remote web masters there will be.  I meant what I said about "VIRTUAL control by the development group -- they tell us not we tell them.  They have neither accepted or rejected the "proposition" regarding REPOSITORY and SERVER and VIRTUAL OWNERSHIP.

However, if the development group rejects the proposition then you and I or anyone else interested can work together somehow.  Right now everything stands still (except the satellite connection which is already a GO) until the development team deliberates and comes to a conclusion on the "proposal".  I really like your eager beaver attitude so regardless of the outcome I would enjoy working with you.  You make things happen over night.  I admire this.

So that's the bottom line for now, good-bye from Harvard -- Ted

Sure.. give us the list some details.. logins etc. I like this idea,

Regarding my satellite connection. I have offered a repository and
server (operating out of my LAN) to serve Dom 0 and Dom U build
contributions -- if maintained by the contributor(s). My satellite ISP
indicated that there are bandwidth limitations and if you people get
involved and we find they are inadequate I will try to find money to
extend that bandwidth. This server will guarantee that the latest stable
packages are available on an on-going basis. I indicated that Xen
developers would have authority to determine and influence other issues
such as the placement of test and unstable builds on the server as it
suited their purposes. In other words, if desirable, part of the server
