Hi. ioemu-remote is used as default device model on x86 and Keir is planning to delete ioemu from the tree soon so that xen/ia64 should switch from ioemu to ioemu-remote. Now that few patches were commited [1], ioemu-remote compiles for ia64 with the ia64 source tree and I sent out the patch to switch to ioemu-remote as default qemu-dm. Please make sure that your system to use ioemu-remote.
