Same Problem. (I was hoping I had an elilo.conf typo.) I'm using unstable since the stable release generated an error right away "ELILO boot: Uncompressing Linux... gzip.c(line 602):gzip_ia64 : invalid exec header"
Problem resolved. I'm using MD raid devices, and used the default `make dist` settings.
I would like to note that the error did appear as a memory error, and could possibly be better defined.
